Maxim Picnic

We went to the annual Maxim Picnic. Jake was able to make it since it wasn't held on opening morning of archery hunting.
Jake is a kid at heart.

Sleepyhead

Jack fell asleep during dinner...at 6:30!!!
He promptly awoke at the mention of a cookie.
He was so tired that he nearly fell back asleep eating it.

Corvallis Adventure

Uncle Donald and Jack are captivated by the deer that frequent the yard.
Uncle Donald is not used to being "in" pictures...he's usually snapping them.

Dinner at the Nelsons'

Meg stops for a moment and gives me a half smile while out playing in the rain.
Jack won't let the liquid sunshine stop him from enjoying this wonderful play structure.
I love to watch Chase, Jack and Meg play.
Doesn't Chase's smile just melt your heart?

Dinner @ Carol Ann's House

The views from the deck were unbelievable...you could see for miles.
Uncle Ken, Sean, Christie and Colby enjoyed their dinner with a view.
Dora and Zoë are best of friends.

Ayden inspired Jack to sit down and put his feet up as cousin Zoë hammed it up for the cam.

Oaks Amusement Park

Jack was happy to have the squirt bottle so he could cool people down as they walked by.
We've been working on "sharing", however, I never did get a bite.
Colby, Zoë & Jack had fun playing the ice cold water tub.
Fortunately our family had the best picnic spot at the park...there was lots of shade with a breeze:)

Conestoga Big Truck Day

This was the first year we've made it to the THPRD's Big Truck Day event.
Jack loved climbing into the seat and steering the enormous wheel on this truck.
You should of seen the look on his face when he saw this gigantic "Johnny Tractor". He has a little tractor that is really a book.
I think I was just as excited as Jack when we saw the weiner mobile.

Barbecue @ Grandma's House

Jake and Ayden have a special bond.
Tyler and McKenzie loved the sprinkler...look closely in the background and you'll see the sharp shooter.
I didn't think Jack would like the sprinkler but he sure enjoyed spraying people with it.
Colby and Christy had a nice time hanging out on a hot summer day.

Pigtails & Crewcuts

Jack enjoys playing in the fire engine when it's time for a cut.
He notices me long enough to stop and wave hello:)
When he wasn't ringing the bell he was beepin' the horn.
What a cutie...he's all cleaned up in time for the family reunion.

Camping

Many many years ago, Jake and I had camped at this spot on the N. Fork of the Santiam River.
We felt VERY fortunate to have found this spot unoccuppied upon arrival with our great friends Chad, Pam, Meg & Chase.
Throwing rocks into the river was a pasttime all the kiddies enjoyed throughout the weekend.
Chase and Meg love the outdoors and spending time close to the water.

Sightseeing on the North Fork of the Santiam

As we were scouting the surrounding area we came upon a beautiful waterfall.
Meg and Chase were more than happy to stop and smile for me:)
Maggie thought it was cool, too but was disappointed that no one had left her any food.
